Whilst looking through some photos this morning on my puter I saw this rather lovely one of a butterfly I took not last year the year before (last year was a bit of a washout for butterflies). We were walking not far from us and the hedgerows were just full of them - the plant they were feeding off was obviously very good for butterflies. The upload has not made it as clear as it is on the original photo - you can just about see the antennae. I am sure you all know it's a red admiral.

Butterflies are in decline so if you can plant some butterfly mix seeds in your garden you will be helping to protect a very beautiful insect.
