A card for Sue

Sue is the most selfless person I know, she cares full time for her husband who has dementia and yet if asked will, even if she is dead on her feet do something for someone else. She is always concerned for everyone else's welfare and puts herself bottom of the pile. She is exhausted most of the time, sometimes up with Keith half a dozen times in the night and still the words sorry and no are not in her vocabulary. It's her birthday on Friday, her lovely son Paul offered to take her out but sadly she lost her brother this time last year and doesn't feel like celebrating. I offered to look after Keith so she could go without worrying but she still didn't want to go. I suggested I make a cake with a whole lot of love inside and if she provides the tea, Phillip and I will provide the cake, so that's what we are doing on Friday after work, tea and cake with Sue and Keith.

So on to the card.  Here are the things I got out, my scrap bag (in particular was looking for some mirrir card to mount my image),  my SU card, paper and ribbon, my Lili images and my tools.  I also got some buttons out but decided not to use them.

First job, the patterned paper and ribbon, I love this really wide ribbon from Stampin up.

Next the sentiment, mounted on some patterned paper and then on to some Mirri card, the stamp is from Stampin up and one of my favourites.  The flowers were from wild orchid.

And finally it all comes together. I know she will be thrilled with it.  I added some stampin up pearls here and there and job done.
Happy birthday Sue, you are an inspiration.
I will make the cake and some cheese scones to take on Friday later in the week.

I hope everyone is having a good week - the nights are finally drawing out and the days are a bit warmer.  The weekend weather was wonderful and it remains dry - about time!
